Meet and greet for the candidates to be held at Myrgan Wood Summer Champions on July 11th at St. Volodymyr Catholic Park
Polling to Take place at the Gaderian Wednesday August 5th in Myrgan Wood.
They ask qualified Individuals to apply for this important station.
As per Avacal Law:
6.1 Requirements
6.1.1. Applicants must be SCA members in good standing.
6.1.2. Applicants must be acceptable to The Crown (similar to fighters entering a Crown List). Ensure the Crown’s approval prior to presenting them to the barony as candidates.
6.1.3. One may apply as an individual, or as part of a pair who will lead together.
The pair must function jointly (there is a single vote on the financial committee for example) if selected. This will require open and frequent communication to be successful. Plan for it.
In Avacal it is tradition and recommended that two people serve as baronial coronets to share the workload.
6.1.4. You may only apply once. For example, you may not apply as both an individual and as part of a pair – neither may you apply as part of more than one pair.
6.1.5. Applicants are to make themselves available to The Crown in person or virtually to discuss plans for the barony and to answer questions as soon as is reasonably possible after submitting their application.
An application consists of a letter of intent, including a plan for the barony should they be selected, accompanied by a modern and SCA resume.

Meet the Candidates
Trosten & Robert
Hi everyone! My name is Trosten Spearbreaker (mundanely known as Anthony Gerbrandt). You may know me for my bardic activities and my laughter. I have a passion for fighting, archery, and bardic, and I love spending time with friends while doing those things. While you might know me through the SCA, my mundane life may not be as well known. I was a caregiver for my mother for over 10 years, and I’ve worked in jobs that were high-stress and physically demanding, requiring patience, grace, a high degree of independence, and strong problem-solving skills. When the time comes, I strive to apply wisdom to resolve conflict swiftly and thoughtfully. I’ve taught music to both adults and children, farmed, and wrangled cattle. Games bring me a great deal of joy, from board games and D&D to video games. Don’t even get me started on my fascination with bodies of water! Above all, I have an absolute love for my family—both by blood and by choice—including those I’ve met through the SCA, and I cherish them deeply. I’ve been friends with Matt (Robert Boniface) for much longer than my time in the SCA, and I consider him a brother. Our friendship has given us countless great memories and has helped me through some of my darkest times. There is no one else I would rather stand beside in serving the barony.

Hello there you fine persons! I am Robert Boniface, a member of the Order of the Mark. My focus in the SCA has been building communities and skills in the missile, A&S, and fencing disciplines. I feel strongly that the best way for us to thrive is funding our joy and sharing it with one another, and I look forward to working with the populace of our barony and the kingdom at large to ensure our community continues to prosper. Trostan is one of my dearest friends and has been for well over a decade. We’ve been through a lot of tears, joy, and stress together and I’m looking forward to sharing baronage with him if we’re successful.
Their baronial plans:
Not looking to make major changes, especially until we know the landscape. Right now, we see three big goals: We’d like to layer more deputies into officer positions as much as possible, making them more manageable for each individually. This includes broadening and splitting the chatelaine role a bit. Recruitment and retention are a big focus, particularly through upcoming programmes. We intend to get started on creation of a Baronial throwing weapons champion as soon as reasonable. The community has been growing to a steady size and is large enough and stable enough to support a championship.
Kaen & Basil
Hello Good Populace of Myrgan Wood. I am Kaen Yukimura-dono, and I am interested in becoming your next Baroness of this great Barony. In my mundane life I’m an Engineering Technologist. I graduated from the ESET program, top of my class with Distinction. This Diploma allowed me to work my dream job at Calian, AT. My main role involves designing, building, and testing satellite ground stations. I also worked at the same company as a Manufacturing Technologist where I tested and troubleshooted various satellite products. In these positions I’ve also written test procedures, developed brand new test setups, trained new techs, became an expert of our new ERP System, done costing for proposals, and have travelled to various sites to install, test, and commission new satellite stations. In my SCA life, archery and especially thrown weapons are my area of focus. I am Scout to Master Robert Boniface. I recently acquired my thrown weapons senior marshallate, a goal I’ve been working towards for a few months now, with the intent of running tournaments and thrown weapons practices. I am also a junior archery marshal and enjoy shooting longbows. I also enjoy doing bardic and A&S. I’m currently the Myrgan Wood A&S Officer, and I was the Myrgan Wood Bardic Champion from March 2025-2026, and I hosted a few Bardic tournaments over my tenure. I enjoy creating things for other people; I created the new Myrgan Wood Bardic Champions regalia hood, as well as Mantles for both Ayame Hojou-sensei and Master Robert Boniface.

I am known in the society as Lord Basil the Husband, and I seek to represent Myrgan Wood under the office of baron. In the mundane world I trained as a pilot, worked in cargo, as a delivery driver and handled international safety inspections. I now work in customer service and dabble as a craftsman and artist. Within the society my focus has been as a rapier fighter. I’m a senior marshal and as champion I have led Myrgan Wood to our first victory on the rapier front of quad war. I have done multiple demos and work to teach and empower new members of our society. As baron of Myrgan Wood I intend to reign with patience and chivalry. With Kaen Yukimura as baroness we intend to keep our baronies reputation of chivalric conduct and martial prowess strong. Thank you for your consideration noble populace.
Their baronial plans:
For the most part we’re starting with a “steady as she goes” approach for the first while until we’re comfortable with our place in the leadership team. We’re working with A&A to have continuity between their reign and ours, so we can finish what they are committed to. We also want to focus on recruitment and retainment of new members, supporting the disciplines that may be struggling, and looking into rewarding contributions that are easily overlooked.
